PureGenomics Nutrigenomics Consultation

Consultation with Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Janet Zarowitz, MS, RD, CDN
Using Genetic Clues to Optimize and Personalize Nutrition

Nutrigenomics uses genetic clues to customize and optimize your nutrition.

Your consultation will include a review of your SNPs, discussion of signs of their expression, and a nutrition protocol to optimize the potential weaknesses of your SNPs.

The PureGenomics Report covers genes and nutritional supports related to:

  • vitamins, minerals
  • detoxification pathways
  • weight management and metabolism
  • cardiovascular health
  • GI health
  • cognitive health and memory
  • immune health
  • energy and fitness
  • glucose metabolism
  • antioxidant and cellular defense
  • methylation pathways
  • new nutrigenomics reports are being added

Your PureGenomics consultation can be in-person in the Westchester, NY office or remotely via telehealth (phone or video chat).

What’s the Methylation Pathway?

PureGenomics Nutrigenomics addresses the most important research-based Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs or unique variations) in the methylation pathway. These SNPs can be supported with nutrition and nutrition supplements. This individualized nutrition solution, was developed under the guidance of Nathan Morris, MD and Kelly Heim, PhD.

For example, PureGenomics Nutrigenomics analyzes SNPs in the following genes in the methylation pathway and identifies nutritional supports for each:

  • MTHFR  (A1298C)
  • MTHFR  (C677T)
  • CBS  (C699T)
  • COMT  (V158M)
  • FUT2  (G772A)
  • MTR  (A2756G)
  • MTRR  (A66G)
  • TCN2  (C766G)

Why is Methylation so Important?

Methylation is indispensible for your body, for:
  • homocysteine clearance
  • neurotransmitter production
  • hormone detoxification
  • amino acid production
  • utilization and assimilation of vitamins
  • DNA synthesis
  • gene regulation.
SNPs in the methylation pathway are surprising common. More than 50% of the population have one or more key methylation SNPs.

Because they are so prevalent, the PureGenomics Nutrigenomics approach may help many people. This may be particularly true for people whose medical issues have not fully resolved after exploring solutions with their physicians.

Note: SNPs represent potential.  Not all SNPs are expressed in an individual. A person’s genetic makeup provides additional clues that may explain an underlying factor that affects his or her health.
