Survivability in the Gut
Bacillus subtilis in HU58 is a very robust probiotic that forms an outer protective shell, known as an endospore. This impenetrable coating protects the bacterium from harsh environments, including heat, acid, pressure, light, and lack of oxygen. The rugged nature of Bacillus subtilis makes it the perfect probiotic to survive manufacturing, packaging, shipping, and ultimately digestion. In fact, this species is so resilient that researchers at California Polytechnic State University reported reviving Bacillus spores from the gut of a 25-million-year-old bee that was fossilized in amber.
The HU58 strain of Bacillus subtilis is a friendly bacterial spore that was discovered in a healthy human gut at the University of London. HU58 is an incredibly rugged spore that can withstand extreme pH levels, high temperatures, dehydration, antibiotics, pressure, radiation and even the harsh environment of the digestive tract. It can also produce over 12 targeted antibiotics of its own, which makes it particularly effective at balancing gut flora.
Supports Healthy Digestion
You may have heard that “you are what you eat,” but a more accurate phrase would be that “you are what you digest and absorb.” Digestion begins in the mouth with digestive enzymes present in saliva. Your body then relies on you to chew your food into small pieces before sending it through your stomach acid for further breakdown. Once your food passes through the stomach, the final step of digestion relies almost entirely upon the digestive enzymes from your pancreas.
Bacillus subtilis (HU58) is able to produce nearly 12 strong antibiotics that are potent fighters of opportunistic and harmful bacteria.
-
Bacillus subtilis (HU58) helps to maintain healthy digestion by increasing the production of digestive enzymes in the gut, including amylase, protease, and lipase.
- Bacillus subtilis (HU58) produces a very healthy compound called Nattokinase; Nattokinase has been shown to reduce blood pressure, reduce cholesterol and reduce excessive clotting by fibrinolysis.
- Bacillus subtilis (HU58) produces nutrients that have systemic health benefits such as B vitamins and Vitamin K2.
- Bacillus subtilis (HU58) offers the effect of broad-spectrum immune stimulation.
Our ancestors had a diet brimming with nutrients and beneficial species of live bacteria because they lived off the land. These species of live bacteria evolved into an essential component of our digestive system known as probiotics. Probiotics regulate the digestive system, improve immune function and serve as the first line of defense against infections.
Unlike most other probiotics, bacillus probiotic spores thrive in the gut and survive the acid in our stomachs when taken orally. When they arrive lower down in the gut, they are able to do their job.
Scientists are learning more and more about the importance of a healthy and balanced gut microbiome. For example, the gut bacteria actually send signals to our immune system, acting as the “General” of the immune system that protects you from infection.
