Product Description
OmneDiem® Histamine Digest
DAO – Diamine Oxidase Enzyme – Enzyme for Histamine Imbalance
Omne Diem® Histamine Digest — The Histamine Neutralizing Enzyme with DAOgest™
Supports Healthy Degradation of Food-Derived Histamine
Many foods contain histamine and/or cause the release of histamine in the gut. Diamine Oxidase (DAO) is the primary enzyme responsible for degrading dietary histamine in the GI tract.
Some people don’t produce a sufficient amount of Diamine Oxidase (DAO).
In that case, providing an outside source of DAO such as the nutrition supplement Histamine Digest (formerly labeled Umbrellux DAO2) may provide relief of symptoms from excessive histamine levels.
Histamine Digest contains a patented form of DAO that releases the enzyme in the small intestine where it acts directly on dietary histamine.
(According to the International Society of DAO Deficiency, the main cause of the enzymatic dysfunction is a person’s genetics.)
Histamine Digest is an advanced second-generation formulation of DAO (DAOgest)with catalase and ascorbyl palmitate (vitamin C) to enhance activity. DAO is delivered with a patented Designed Release capsule that releases in the small intestine where DAO acts directly on the dietary histamine to support digestive health and comfort.
NOTE: Some very sensitive individuals prefer another DAO product from Omne DIEM – Histamine Digest PureMAX, as it does not contain catalase or vitamin C.
What are some symptoms of histamine intolerance?
The ingestion of histamine-rich food or of alcohol or drugs that release histamine or block DAO may provoke diarrhea, headache, rhinoconjunctival symptoms, asthma, hypotension, arrhythmia, urticaria, pruritus, flushing, and other conditions in patients with histamine intolerance.

DAO Enzyme is Clinically Tested to Break Down Dietary Histamines
The DAO enzyme has been clinically tested and found to break down food-derived histamine in the digestive tract.
DAO is not absorbed and does not have systemic activity. Click to see the biochemistry of how DAO helps break down histamine.
Is Histamine Intolerance the Same as Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)?
Histamine Intolerance and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome are different, but related.
In Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, a condition when body’s innate immune system is hyperactive, mast cells release many different chemical mediators, with histamine being just one of them.
